Development Program

The Financial Officer Recruitment and Development (FORD) program is a development program for entry-level finance professionals. Individuals in the program are supported to obtain their chartered professional accountant (CPA) designation. In this highly competitive development program, participants have the opportunity to work in up to 3 different areas of finance, allowing them to gain the practical experience required for the CPA.

Required Financial Management Courses

The Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) and the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS), have worked together to develop a curriculum for financial management professionals.

Government Planning, Budgeting, Reporting and Evaluation Cycle (F112)
Financial Management Systems (F113)
Applying Key Concepts in Financial Management (F304)

Onboarding Sessions

The OCG offers onboarding sessions for new finance professionals. These sessions provide networking opportunities and insightful information regarding:
